GYANPITH AWARD :
The Gyanapith Award is regarded as Highest literary award in India. it is awarded for the best creative literary writing by an Indian ,in one of the languages included in the 8th shedule of the Indian constitution. The award carries a Bronze replica of Vaghdevi, a citation and a cash prize of Rs.5 lakhs. The award was the Brain child of Rama Jain , and was instituted on 22nd may 1961,though the first award was given in 1965.
